Mental Health Support That Meets You Where You Are

From personal development and emotional wellness to team engagement and corporate wellness initiatives, our work is centred on helping people feel better, function better, and live and work more intentionally.Whether you are an individual seeking personal growth, a group looking for a space to learn and connect, or an organisation wanting to make employee wellbeing a meaningful part of your workplace culture, we believe that positive change begins when we invest in people.

Portrait of Sphiwe Mashiane, registered social worker and counsellor

Hi, I'm Sphiwe Mashiane

My journey into Social Work is one I never quite anticipated. It wasn't a career I initially imagined pursuing, but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the profession, the people, their stories, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their lives. In 2019, while still a social work student, I established Social Work with Sphiwe, an idea inspired by my growing passion for people, human development, and creating spaces for meaningful conversations. What started as a student initiative has since evolved into a wellness brand offering Counselling and Individual Support, Employee Wellness Programmes, Training, Facilitation and Speaking Engagements. Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Arts in Social Development from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), which have shaped my understanding of individuals, communities, and the environments that influence human wellbeing. My professional journey across healthcare, higher education, and corporate wellness has allowed me to work with diverse individuals, groups, and organisations, facilitating conversations around mental health, resilience, relationships, personal growth, and workplace wellbeing. Through these experiences, I have come to appreciate that wellness extends beyond our mental health; it encompasses our relationships, sense of purpose, personal development, and the environments in which we live and work. This is what inspires the work I do: creating spaces where people can pause, reflect, learn, and reconnect with themselves and others. Through Social Work with Sphiwe, I bring together my professional experience and passion for facilitation, psychoeducation, and human development to make wellbeing accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyday life. I may not have planned to become a social worker, but I am grateful that this journey found me.
